Our Wedding at Moli’i Gardens, Kualoa Ranch
I can hardly believe that a whole year has passed since our wedding at Moli'i Gardens at Kualoa Ranch on May 6th, 2022! The day was everything I had dreamed of and more, and I am so grateful for the memories we made.
We started the day by getting ready in Waikiki, with our wedding party and a few family members. The excitement was palpable as we prepared to head out to Kualoa Ranch Moli’i Gardens, which is known for its stunning natural beauty and is a popular venue for Oahu weddings.
Once we arrived at Moli’i Gardens, we had our first look at the venue, which was such a special moment and one of the highlights of the day. Following our first look, we took wedding party portraits at the venue and we snuck away with our photographer for couples portraits on a private dock via catamaran. I was blown away by the breathtaking mountain views and the catamaran ride back to the venue was surreal as we slowly approached our ceremony site knowing we would soon exchange vows in front of our favorite people.
The ceremony itself was truly magical. We wed under a canopy of tropical flowers and foliage, with the sound of the ocean waves in the distance. It was a moment that we will always remember. During our ceremony, we exchanged leis, rings, and personal vows.
After the ceremony, we took some family photos, couples portraits, and we enjoyed cocktail hour, complete with delicious food and drinks from Kualoa Ranch. Our guests were treated to the sights and sounds of Hawaii.
During the reception, we did a first dance and parent dances, then we surprised our guests with a hula performance and fire dancers. The hula performance was a tribute to honor my husband and my late grandparents (one of my husband’s grandmothers was native Hawaiian and a professional hula dancer), so we felt it would be fitting to celebrate our grandparents by means of a hula performance. The hula dancer’s performance was beautiful—it brought tears to our eyes and was deeply moving.
Following the hula performance, we had fire dancers perform and they put on an incredible show that left us in awe! The energy and excitement was contagious.
Looking back on our Kualoa Ranch Hawaii wedding, I am filled with gratitude and happiness. It was the perfect day for us, surrounded by people we love, in a location that will always hold a special place in our hearts. If you're considering getting married in Hawaii, I highly recommend a Kualoa Ranch wedding– it truly is a magical place.
